WebSpace
As part of the University’s commitment to upgrade technology by replacing or improving existing systems, the space survey will migrate from the legacy FIS Space System to a new web-based application for the FY 08 survey. The new WebSpace system will be implemented in April, 2008.
To prepare for the conversion to the new system, any changes to FIS Space must be entered and approved by departements by close of business on Tuesday, April 8th. At that point, data in FIS Space will be frozen and the system will only be available for inquiries. WebSpace will be accessible beginning Monday, April 14th.
Focus reporting will still be available after WebSpace is implemented.
For FY 08, research departments will complete the space survey using WebSpace. Department coordinators will be contacted with specific instructions and information on training sessions.
Academic departments that do not have research and central administrative departments will receive the same report they have received in prior years. That report will need to be reviewed and returned to the appropriate space office.
Also, the following changes (shown in red type) were made to the Space Utilization website for FY 06:
- The Room Type Codes webpage has been updated with the addition of Clean Room (260), Administrative Office (320), Administrative Office Service (325), Faculty Office (330), Faculty Office Service (335). Room Type code (310) has been redefined as General Office. Please view the Room Type Code Definitions page for complete definitions.
